“ENDEMIC and tragic corporate failures” led to the fatal train derailment at Stonehaven in 2020, rail unions said yesterday after the final report on the tragedy blamed bosses for systemic shortcomings.

Train driver Brett McCullough, conductor Donald Dinnie and passenger Christopher Stuchbury died when the 6.38am Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street train left the track after hitting a landslip at Carmont, Aberdeenshire, on August 12 2020.
