Polanski calls on Burnham to answer if he will end Britain's participation in Gaza genocide or continue it

ZACK POLANSKI has demanded Andy Burnham clearly indicate if he will end Britain’s participation in the Gaza genocide ahead of the new MP’s likely crowning as PM.

The Green leader also slammed Sir Keir Starmer’s outgoing government today for continuing “to arm Israel, shield its government from meaningful accountability and help sustain this genocidal assault.”

Marking more than 1,000 days of Israel’s genocidal assault on the besieged territory, Mr Polanski said “Andy Burnham must answer: as Prime Minister, will he end Britain’s participation in genocide or continue it?”

He said Britain continued its economic and military support of Israel for almost three years, as “the world watched hospitals destroyed, children shot by snipers, doctors tortured, civilians deliberately starved and lifesaving aid blocked.

“The evidence is overwhelming.”

Referring to the new Israel Exposed – War Crimes Archive, which documents events in Gaza, he said archives of this type will “ensure these crimes can never be forgotten or denied.

“Future generations will understand that we knew what was happening. They will ask why our government continued to help make it possible.”

Mr Polanski, whose party has eaten away at a large part of Labour’s left-wing base if polls are to be believed, said Mr Burnham must break with the previous government’s policies in the Middle East.

“If Andy Burnham is serious about offering a different kind of leadership, he must commit now to ending all UK arms exports to Israel, imposing comprehensive sanctions on the Israeli government, backing international legal accountability, handing intelligence gathered by RAF reconnaissance flights over Gaza to the international courts, and suspending normal diplomatic relations until Israel fully complies with international law.”
