WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Celtic remained at the summit of the Scottish Women’s Premier League after their top of the table clash with Rangers ended 0-0 on Monday night. With three games to go, both clubs are level on points but the Celts have a vastly superior goal difference. Defending champions Glasgow City are third, six points off the pace, but they still have a home game with Rangers on Sunday to look forward to.

SPEEDWAY: Belle Vue Aces took advantage of Manchester avoiding the worst of the wet weather to overwhelm Birmingham 57-33 on Monday afternoon and move up to second in the Premiership. League leaders Ipswich claimed the points from their truncated meeting with bottom club King’s Lynn as they were leading 37-23 when the rain struck after the tenth heat. Oxford Spires’ match with Leicester was postponed.

WOMEN’S CRICKET: The Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy continues tomorrow with league leaders South East Stars taking on the Northern Diamonds at Beckenham. The Stars only lead reigning champions the Southern Vipers on run rate prior to their game at third-placed Sunrisers in Radlett. Bottom of the table Blaze host the Western Storm and North West Thunder play the Central Sparks at Old Trafford in tomorrow’s other fixtures.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns both scored 27 points as defending NBA champions Denver were pulverised 106-80 by Minnesota to go 2-0 down in their best of seven western conference play-off semi final. In the east New York Knicks began their series against the Indiana with a 121-117 win. Eastern champions Boston face Cleveland and Dallas travel to Oklahoma City in the other play-off matches tomorrow morning.
