WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: An inquest into the death of Sheffield United player Maddy Cusack has been adjourned for a second time this year, almost three years after she died. After eight days of evidence, Assistant Coroner Sophie Cartwright KC said proceedings would resume on December 7 to obtain further information. The hearing was told Cusack’s family had submitted a written complaint to United within a week of her death, raising concerns they alleged arose during her time working under coach Jonathan Morgan.
MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Gregor Townsend has challenged his Scotland players to deliver a performance that gives them a fighting chance of glory in one of the flagship games of their career in Pretoria this weekend. The Scots are huge underdogs as they prepare to face South Africa away from home for the first time in 12 years in today’s Nations Championship showdown at Loftus Versfeld.

Draper’s withdrawal from Wimbledon due to a recurrence of bone bruising in his left arm was the low point of a disastrous first day which also saw all 10 home players in action lose. Draper has since been announced as a wild card entrant into the DC Open in Washington beginning on July 27.
MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Wales head coach Steve Tandy has made three changes to his side for today’s Nations Championship match against Argentina in San Juan. Sam Costelow starts in place of Ospreys fly-half Dan Edwards, while his Scarlets team-mate Ellis Mee comes in for Bristol’s Louis Rees-Zammit on the right wing. Cardiff flanker James Botham has been given the nod over Alex Mann at blindside.
