WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Defending champions London Lions sit bottom of the Super League and are still searching for a first win of the season when they visit Durham Palatinates on Saturday afternoon.

Neither team has yet tasted success in any of their league or Trophy games.

Elsewhere today early pace-setters Sheffield face Nottingham, unbeaten Leicester play the Essex Rebels, Manchester meet Cardiff Met and Caledonia are at the Oaklands Wolves.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: It will be an all-Brazilian Copa Libertadores final again after Rio de Janeiro’s Botafogo cruised to a 6-3 aggregate victory over Uruguay’s Penarol in Montevideo on Thursday.

They will face Atletico Mineiro for the title following their 3-0 aggregate win over Argentina’s River Plate.

Teams from Brazil have won the last five Copa Libertadores and three of those finals have also been all-Brazilian affairs.

MEN’S CRICKET: England are one down as they face the West Indies in Antigua on Saturday for the second leg of their three-match one-day series.

New captain Liam Livingstone top-scored with 48 as an inexperienced England line-up struggled to 209 all out in Thursday’s first game.

Windies opener Evin Lewis hit eight sixes on his way to 94 from 69 balls as the hosts romped to an eight wicket (DLS method) victory.

RUGBY LEAGUE: Liam Marshall, last season’s leading try scorer in the Super League, is set to make his full international debut when England face Samoa for the second leg of their two match series at Headingley on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts eased to a dominant 34-18 win in last week’s opener at Wigan.

Saturday’s fixture will be preceded by a match between the English and Welsh women’s teams.
