State collusion alleged in “political murder” of HDP worker Deniz Poyraz
Denis Poyraz was killed in the HDP's regional office in Izmir in June

ALLEGED Turkish state collusion in the murder of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) worker Deniz Poyraz was exposed in a tense court hearing in Izmir that descended into violence today.

“Who are you trying to protect?” prosecutors charged as the judge postponed the trial until January 24 after a number of fiery exchanges in the courtroom.

It was alleged by lawyers for the deceased that Ms Poyraz’s suspected killer was seen taking a taxi, with a civilian police officer working in Ankara security directorate, to a hotel close to the HDP office in the western coastal city.
