THE US’s bombing of Iran’s nuclear sites will have “severe economic repercussions” on ordinary people in countries that rely on west Asian oil imports and migrant labour, the Indian Workers Association (IWA) GB said today.

Calling the unilateral attack “a grave violation of Iranian sovereignty and the UN Charter,” IWA GB national president Harsev Bains said it will “in all likelihood, drastically escalate the conflict, with disastrous implications for global peace and the livelihoods of ordinary people — especially in countries like India, which rely heavily on west Asia for oil imports and opportunities for migrant labour.

“The already burdened working masses will be the worst affected by the economic fallout of the war.”

The IWA GB urged the government to stop arming Israel, boycott Israeli goods and start the disinvestment process.

“Calling for deescalation while bombing countries or carrying out genocide against the Palestinian people is the act of cowardly complicit war criminals,” said Mr Bains.

His comments came ahead of a planned Stop Bombing Iran emergency protest outside the US embassy in south London this evening.
