Calls for Golden Dawn founder to be extradited after EU waives his immunity from prosecution
THE European Parliament has waived the immunity from prosecution of Golden Dawn founding member Ioannis Lagos, who is currently serving as a Greek MEP, paving the way for his jailing.
A Greek court sentenced him to 13 years in prison in October after finding him guilty, along with 38 others, of running the fascist party as a criminal organisation.
They were found guilty of a string of serious offences, including the stabbing to death of rapper Pavlos Fyssas and attacks on communists, trade unionists and immigrants.
