Pakistani court sentences ex-PM Imran Khan and wife on corruption charges

A PAKISTANI court today sentenced former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, to 14 and seven years in prison, respectively, on corruption charges.

Mr Khan has been imprisoned since 2023.

The couple were accused of accepting land as a gift from real estate tycoon Malik Riaz in exchange for laundering £190 million, which was returned to Pakistan by British authorities in 2022.
