TUC general secretary Paul Nowak condemned labour abuses in Bangladesh today, calling on the Tory government to demand enforcement of workers’ rights as part of a trade deal.
The union federation’s leader was speaking on the 10th anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster, in which more than 1,100 workers died.
Mr Nowak said: “Ten years after more than 1,000 workers died in the Rana Plaza factory collapse, labour rights abuses are still rife in Bangladesh and many are still working in unsafe conditions.
