China administers one billionth dose of Covid-19 vaccine

CHINA administered its one billionth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine this weekend as it continues to lead the way in the global fight against the pandemic.

The milestone was reached as Beijing stepped up its national vaccination programme, with as many as 20 million injections given on multiple days in recent weeks.

The daily jab rate has doubled since May 23, according to information from China’s National Health Commission issued today.
