Weather to play a huge role at Haydock this afternoon

The big race of the day is the Haydock Park Sprint Cup at 2.25 and with the recent inclement weather this now looks a hugely open contest and the value call could be to side with GROWL at an each-way price.

Richard Fahey’s runner wouldn’t be anywhere near a match for the likes of Blue Point, Harry Angel and The Tin Man on good ground, but we are likely to be bordering on heavy ground and it cannot be deep enough for this son of Oasis Dream.

On similar ground he was beaten over eight lengths by Tasleet in the Duke of York Stakes, but that was his opening start of the season and he got badly hampered early on as well.
