POLL: The Lib Dems could avoid a national wipeout at the general election - but leader Nick Clegg could lose his seat, a new poll for Michael Ashcroft revealed yesterday.

The poll showed Labour was just three points behind in Mr Clegg's Sheffield Hallam constituency.

Ukip leader Nigel Farage could be disappointed in his bid to become an MP after the poll showed him five points behind the Tories in South Thanet and three points behind Labour.
