MEN’S CRICKET: New Zealand hold an unassailable 3-1 lead over the West Indies before Tuesday’s final leg of their one-day series at Bridgetown’s Kensington Oval.

Chasing 188 to win, Kiwi captain Mitch Santner hit a patient 34 not out to earn a one-wicket win in Sunday’s game as Windies left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie took 5-47.

New Zealand are ranked as the world’s second-best 50-over team, eight places above the Windies.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Champions League action resumes tomorrow evening with 11 second qualifying-round first-leg fixtures.

Dublin’s Shamrock Rovers are in Yerevan to face Ararat Armenia while compatriots Larne host 1991’s European Cup winners Red Star Belgrade.

Hearts begin their campaign at Austrian champions Sturm Graz while 1969’s Cup winners Slovan Bratislava enter the fray against Georgia’s Iberia 1999.

MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Leeds top the Super League by just two points after their seven-match winning run was surprisingly ended at lowly Castleford on Sunday.

Jason Qareqare scored two tries as Cas went from 16 points down to win an exciting encounter 36-34 at Wheldon Road.

Second-placed Wigan kept up the pressure with a 24-10 win at bottom club while defending champions crashed to an ill-disciplined 34-12 defeat at Warrington.

MEN’S GOLF: New Zealander Ryan Fox hit a two under par final round to win the British Open by a shot from America’s Cameron Young at Southport’s Royal Birkdale course on Sunday.

Fox’s first major title in his 14-year career was made possible by a record-equalling eight under par third round.

Tommy Fleetwood finished as the highest-placed Briton in joint fourth, three shots off the pace, with defending champion Scottie Scheffler.
