Fast for Gaza to be held outside Parliament for next two weeks
Palestinians carry food and humanitarian aid packages delivered by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a U.S.-backed organization, in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, June 26, 2025

A FAST for Gaza to be held in front of Parliament every day for the next two weeks starts tomorrow.

The UK Palestine Mental Health Network and allied solidarity groups timed the demonstration to begin ahead of the debate on the Benefits Bill.

Up to four people will fast at a time from 9am to 7pm each day to protest against “the obscene and intolerable conditions forced” on Gazans and challenge the government’s complicity, said a spokesman for the network.

“Palestinians in Gaza are being deliberately starved. When they try to obtain food they are being massacred,” they added.

“It is a symbolic action, designed to be part of a mosaic of small solidarity actions which are happening worldwide to demonstrate that we will never abandon the people of Gaza.”

Respected Israeli-British historian Professor Avi Shlaim, Jewish Voice for Labour co-chair Jenny Manson and three others will take part tomorrow.
