Purps leave victory late against the Rams
The Purps' James Steele bags a late winner against Ramsbottom United

City of Liverpool 2-1 Ramsbottom United

CITY OF LIVERPOOL picked up a deserved three points to move to 12th in the Northern Premier League West Division, but left it late against Lee Donafee’s Rams.

City of Liverpool started well and defender Michael Grogan almost marked his debut with a goal, but his powerful header was hacked off the line.

The Purps went ahead when a goalkeeping howler from visiting keeper Harry Turner saw possession squandered in his own box to John McGrath. The Purps winger was denied from close range before the ball broke kindly for in-form marksman Danny Mitchley to rifle into the unguarded net.
