NATIONAL schools strikes across England are set to continue after nearly 200,000 teachers voted to reject the Tory government’s latest “ridiculous and insulting” take-home pay cut, the National Education Union (NEU) announced today.

The wage ballot result – announced to a raucous meeting of union members on the opening day of the NEU’s 2023 conference in Harrogate — shows educators are “united in their rage” about the austerity-hit sector’s desperate situation, the union stressed.
