WIGAN boss Matt Peet admitted he was proud of his side as the Warriors earned an emphatic 40-16 victory over Catalans Dragons in Paris on Saturday.
Jai Field, Junior Nsemba, George Marsden, Jack Farrimond and Jake Wardle helped Peet’s team run in five tries before the interval.
Zach Eckersley and Adam Keighran added efforts late in the second period to spoil the hosts’ 20th anniversary game in the French capital.
Peet said: “Very proud of the performance and the result as well. We knew it would have a big-game feel about it so any result would have been a positive one.”
New boss John Cartwright oversaw his second game in charge of the Catalans and admitted the performance taught him a lot about his new team.
He said: “I learned a fair bit about the team today. The errors were big.”
