Rochdale chair says newly laid pitch like a ‘snooker table’

TOTTENHAM can have no complaints about Rochdale’s new “snooker table” pitch, chair Chris Dunphy said today.

The club have been frustrated that their run to the fifth round of the FA Cup for only the third time in their history has been overshadowed by the condition of the playing surface at Spotland Stadium.

After being shown pictures of the pitch during Dale’s fourth-round replay win over Millwall last week, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke out strongly, saying it would put the health of players at risk.
